Brooke and Nora Take the Polar Express

Posted by Rachel Bollin on

We escaped this past weekend from obligations and made our way to The Grand Canyon Railway Express to kick off the holidays.  I had been wanting to take Brooke and Nora on the Polar Express Train for years and I'm so glad we finally made the time to do so.  It was truly a magical trip and if you follow me on Instagram, you saw all our photos and videos of the kids having the time of their lives.

We hit the road and headed north into Arizona on Saturday, making sure we got off the 40 East to take Historic Route 66 into Peach Springs.   We pretended the Subaru was number 95's red race car as we converged on the 2 lane road surrounded by red rock and cactus.

Besides seeing Santa and riding on the Polar Express, the girls had one very strong wish, to play in the snow.  We headed up the local mountain, found snow and let the fun begin.  They didn't care that it was more ice than snow, these kids still had a blast.  They used sticks they found to build forts with their friends, slid across the patches of snow, and even pretended to climb Mount Everest.

Finally, it was our turn to hop on the Polar Express to the North Pole.  The train ride did not disappoint.  There was singing, hot chocolate, cookies, more singing, and Santa!  Brooke and Nora belted out every tune at the top of their lungs.  I wish I still looked at life the way a kid does with pure joy and excitement at all times

.

It was a short but memorable trip and I am so grateful we were able to do it.  Taking time out of our busy lives be part of the holiday magic, was the perfect way to bond as a family and kick off the Christmas season.  We hope you and yours also have time with the ones you love and we wish you all a very, Merry Christmas!

Love,

The B & N Crew

A Quick review of 2019

I can't believe Christmas is only two weeks away and January 2020 is upon us.  2019 was a very interesting year for Brooke and Nora At Home, so much happened, it seems easy to forget all we accomplished.   The start of the year was extremely exciting, as my dream of selling our products on [...]

Why dryer sheets were the first thing I eliminated when Tony got sick

Before Tony went into stage 5 renal failure, I giggled at his obsessive use of dryer sheets.  He loved them nearly as much as he loves football and would always use two or three at a time. While I've never been one to use dryer sheets myself, I did understand why he loved them so [...]

My first Podcast Interview

One of my favorite things to do is talk, so as you can imagine I was super excited to be a guest on Healthiest Podcast.  For my first time out the gate, I think I did ok, although there's about 1 million things I'd change next time.  My story intro drags on too long, my [...]

We missed our Daisy Goat!

This past June, the twins and I had a scary, life altering experience.  The repercussions of that event was that we spent the majority of the summer putting the house and ourselves back together.  Unfortunately, this meant not seeing our sweet Daisy Goat.   I had been missing her so much and losing lots of [...]

Adding to the adorable!

Ahh the drudgery of laundry.  The never ending task that seems to take up way too much of our time.  Last weekend, I made the mistake of skipping laundry, for three days.  Wow, what a mess.  I've spent days trying to catch up, grumbling to myself with every load I take out of the dryer [...]
