I had been looking for an alternative to using Fels Naptha Soap in our detergent. Wanting to get rid of the unnecessary chemical found in the commercial soap.
I'm also all about supporting other vendors with the same goal; replacing chemical filled products with natural organic ones.
Last week, in a twist of fate, I became friends with a woman who lives near us and makes her own Goats Milk Soap. The best part is that it's actually from her own goats she raises. How cool is that? We met up in a parking lot and exchanged product. She needed laundry detergent and I needed to test out her goats milk soap in my laundry detergent to see if it would clean clothes as good as the fels naptha soap did.
I found the exchange to be quite funny when you think about it. I mean, two years ago, I was climbing the corporate ladder in Hotel Sales and now I'm in a parking lot doing a soap exchange.
I made a new batch of detergent and did a few loads of laundry. Yahoo! It works! It works great, actually.
I'm sure my new friend was shocked when I sent her a message saying, I need 12 more bars of that soap, please.
My goal is to at some point offer her hand soap here on our site to help her business and to offer my customers even more options.
Hope you enjoy our new Goat Milk Laundry Detergent!
